iQOO 12 is finally launched globally. iQOO 12 is the next-gen flagship phone from Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO. It packs powerful hardware with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 6.78″ LTPO 144 Hz AMOLED display, 5000 mAh Graphite battery, and so on at a competitive price range.

Display
iQOO 12 has a 6.78″ AMOLED display with a 1260 x 2880 pixels resolution. It also has an 8T LTPO panel that can boost the display refresh rate from 0.5 Hz to 144 Hz. The display has 1400 nits( HBM) manual max brightness level and 3000 nits peak brightness level with 453 ppi (pixel density). The phone has a 20:9 aspect ratio that helps to grip the phone easily and a 2160 Hz PWM dimming level helps reduce eye strain for long-time usage.
Design
iQOO 12 is an attractive device at first glance. It has a glass front, glass back, and aluminum side frame at the outer body. It is available in two color variants Alpha (Black), and Legend (White). The Chinese version gets an extra Red variant. The white variant is made out of enameled glass on the back while the black variant has Fluorite AG glass.
The power and volume buttons are on phone’s right side while the upper side has a speaker, IR blaster, and secondary microphone.
The iQOO 12 measures 163.2 x 75.9 x 8.1 mm and weighs 198.5 grams. It has dual nano-SIM support but lacks a microSD card slot.
Chipset and Storage
iQOO 12 enters global markets as one of the first phones with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It is fabricated in a 4 nm process and consists of eight cores. This chipset has a single cortex-X4 prime core running at 3.3 GHz. It has Adreno 750 GPU. It also has a supercomputing Q1 chip to play games at a 144 Hz refresh rate.
iQOO 12 series has been launched globally in single storage variants packing 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB UFS 4.0 storage while the Indian variant also gets an additional 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage variant. It also gets 16 GB additional virtual RAM on top of 16 GB physical RAM.
Camera
The iQOO 12 packs a triple rear camera. It contains a 50 MP primary camera with OIS support, a 64 MP periscope telephoto with 3X optical and 10X lossless zoom, and a 50 MP ultrawide camera with 119° FoV (Field of View). On the front, there is a 16 MP selfie camera.
The rear camera can shoot up to 8K resolution at 30 FPS while the selfie camera has up to 1080P resolution video recording at 30 FPS. The rear camera has both OIS and EIS support whereas the selfie camera has only EIS support.
Battery
Though iQOO 12 is a sleek and slim phone that is only 8.10 mm thick, it packs a 5,000 mAh graphite battery. Graphite battery technology is new in the smartphone industry and is expected to make a revolution. However, it comes with a fast 120W USB Type-C 2.0 charging cable.
Price and Availability
The 12GB/256GB variant launched at 52,999 INR in India (Converted price ~$635) while the maxed out 16GB/512GB variant launched at 57,999 INR (Converted price ~$700).
Although iQOO 12 has made its entry into international markets, due to its availability, not everyone can avail of this phone. It has been launched in India on December 12, 2023. Being one of the first internationally available phones with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, you can test one if you live in India, UK, and Germany. You can also ship this phone if you can afford it.
